Ten years ago, I was spending the summer of my 14th year deep in new music. This was one of my favorite songs. To this day, I still can't figure out how Skinny Puppy does it--they pull you in, and you absorb it completely. Whenever a Puppy song comes on, I can't skip it. And every time Addiction plays, the opening few seconds twist my stomach in the same way it did a decade ago, when it sounded so new and terrifying and inspiring. Forever grateful for Skinny Puppy.
